BLOG ENTRY July 15. 2014.  The last and final installment of my Brasil  Adventures, powered by Converse.

this is the last and final Vid Blog installment from my adventures in Brasil. This one features Rio native and heavy weight SWK ( Santa Crew), the Mayor of Niteroi, PHAME 2DX and myself painting a wall at the tippy top of Rio's highest comunidade, Morro Dos Prazeres in Santa Teresa one afternoon in April of 2014, I tried to visually capture the incredible view but it really won't do justice, we where so high up above everything except the Cristo Redentor. I have a lot of people to thank for my trip and all the red carpets that where rolled out for me everywhere I went. Thank you SWK for the hospitality and the paint this day. Thank you PHAME 2DX and Mr.s Phame for allowing me into your home for 12 days. A big obrigado to the Ribeiro Academy I trained with in Niteroi, I spoke almost no Portuguese but you guys all still treated me like a brother. And most of all a huge thank you to Geoff Cottrill at Converse HQ for backing this entire adventure, without you this wouldn't have happened. Converse is doing great things lately, especially with Rubber Tracks Studios popping up all over the place, so I wish you all the best ahead.

VISION STREET WEAR x EWOKONE Launch event recap.

BLOG ENTRY July 9, 2014   VISION STREET WEAR x EWOKONE Launch event recap.

Last Wednesday was the launch event in the Lower East Side for the Vision Street Wear x Ewokone Summer 2014 Capsule.... Below is a bunch of photos that where given to me to share with you all, Photo credit so far goes to Ian of East view Photography, Maria Delmar, and Joe Russo . More coverage will trickle in as time goes on and I will most likely drop 2 videos, one to recap the event, and one of the sold out screen print and the whole creation process that went into it over at TOTO .

Moving on, Wed. was an historic event indeed, many many iconic faces of NYC came out to support myself and of course the legacy and heritage of Vision. I have to admit this has been a dream collabo for myself and I wish the guys over at VSW all the best moving forward, I hope they have the freedom to keep doing good things and the door is always open when they want to come back and do more work together..   Vision is such a nostalgic brand for me that just brings back so many good memories of my youth, and just being in love with skateboarding every single day of my younger years, which ultimately lead me to Graffiti....

dive into these pics...

Lastly I gotta give a plug to the VISIONSTREETWEAR.COM website, where you can swing by and pic up the capsule for yourself ;) while they last of course. Don't say I didn't warn you....

BLOG ENTRY June 11. 2014. Where does the time go?

Where does the time go? This song takes me back to 97 doing hours and hours and hours of homework in my college dorm room... no matter where I am when this track drops It's one of those immediately nostalgic songs for me. The whole album really, but specifically this track. I can remember the stereo I played the CD in, the weather, the clothes I was wearing, the people I hung out with... everything...

BLOG ENTRY JUNE 8TH 2014 Video Blog #91.

the more and more of these I knock out, the more I find it a delicate dance of editing to the song. If it doesn't line up, it doesn't make sense. Sometimes it just really fuckin' works! I can't explain it......

This marks the number 90 milestone for my Video Blogs. Crazy, I would have never thought I'd be this many in when I first started. Time flies....

Here we have a Niteroi bus stop we painted and a lil bit of Rio Sight Seeing, a quick walk under the Arcos da Lapa, a trolly bridge that a French tourist died on in 2011 , and the famous tiled stairway in Lapa, called Selarón’s Staircase. Where the artist who started the tiles in 1990 was murdered just last year. You can read more here.

BLOG ENTRY JUNE 5, 2014 Sacred Stitch, Made in NEW YORK. Part 2.

Sacred Stitch "Made In New York" Episode 2- Ewok One from Sacred Stitch on Vimeo.

This project was filmed here in the studio a few months ago by the NY Brand Sacred Stitch. I was recovering from a pretty bad head cold so my voice sounds a little off to me, either way I enjoy the end result. Hope you like the way it came out, and check out they're doing some crafty shit......

BLOG ENTRY May 19.2014 12 Oz Sessions at HQ

I've been friends with my man RAVEN for a quite a time now, and it's cool to look around NY and still see some of the people around that have been on their hustle for many years going strong. My man Alan has had his shit goin' hard for a very long time now and he was solely responsible for me landing a gig back in 2001 at Ecko Enterprises. But before all that, for me it was about scooping up the 12 Oz. mags back in the day ( that I still have every issue) and that was my intro to the Miami scene at the time as well as what was going on everywhere else in the early /mid 90's. In 2014 it's nice to see him evolving and keeping the name alive. I put up a ton of 12 Oz. stickers in Rio and it was cool to be putting up the classic black and red logo down in the tropics, thanks to Kelly and Alan for this video drop, always a fun time.
So here's some original 12 Oz. content that went live yesterday on the site from when I stopped thru HQ. a while back to discuss some future things and I hit up the 12 Oz Black book.

Blog Entry May 4. 2014

The release of SKILLERWHALE,  the Black White and Red BRAINLINGTON was this weekend at the Thailand and South Korean Toy Fairs with my partnering company, MIGHTY JAXX.   They had their hands full running 2 separate booths at the same time.  This time around we offered the release of the SKILLERWHALE version of BRAINLINGTON, in edition of only 80 world wide.   To keep it fair to other markets we decided to hold a small number of these pieces to offer on the MIGHTYJAXX.COM web store very soon. If you're interested in this edition I would suggest just checking back on Mighty Jaxx  starting this week for when they set up the option for purchase.

Blog Entry April 6th 2014. a farewell to one of NY's Iconic Photographers and cool ass dude... Clayton Patterson , LES ambassador and documentarian from street level and sometimes upstairs window.  :)

Im basically jacking this from the NY times, but I dont know how else to get the words on here. It was well written and I felt the need to share it with anyone who likes my work, knows I live and breath what NYC has done for me in terms of inspiration and culture. For me, the impact started in the 90's first hand but obviously like anyone else seeing it from a far what the 80's offered.  It's sad today to see how all the culture and rawness that made NYC what it was is being squeezed out like a sponge so clean purebread cultureless blank people can move in, grasp some kind of grundgy persona overnight and attempt to jump into the fast lane to act like they where always here.  Im partially torn myself, admitting that I only moved to Brooklyn in 1996, I can never REALLY claim to be a true NYer I guess... but I take a lot of pride knowing I came here when NY was still NEW YORK, coming down from 2 hours north in the Catskills.... There where no mesh trucker caps, no yellow tshirts, no rooftop strawberry Gardens, no hipsters getting 4 tattoos in one shot then the next day sitting at an outdoor cafe table on on Wifi wearing a tanktop typing away while talking 5 decibels louder then ANY NYer would ever talk in public, to some broad with armpit hairs and a fur vest on with a wooden purse.   It makes me sick to my stomach... I can only imagine someone who moved here in the 70's or the 80's how they must feel to see how NY has been neutered...     I moved here for the energy and grit that was going on in the early 90s. Previously coming to the Brooklyn Banks and downtown to Sk8 with friends we would come down on Trailways buses or drive down to go to raves on the weekends, Roseland, the Roxy, DnB outlaw parties in Brooklyn, and the maybe painting different spots around the city all b4 I eventually moved here in the fall of 96'. Remember the movie KIDS? I was part of that generation basically on the weekends coming down here taking acid partying all weekend, doing graffiti or skating with packs of kids causing trouble.. returning to Kingston for school mon-Friday....   I can at least say I moved here a good decade before the HERBster invaded.  To me Brooklyn was still a Jeru The Damaja Video by the time I got here.... Those days are long gone, all you see now is a bazaar episode of Portlandia on 90% of the streets in Brooklyn.... Brooklandia....  should be a new HBO show....

Below is a heartfelt article of a man I met a bunch of times over the years who even hung around and shot pictures of us painting here and there.  I don't think I'll see him before he leaves but in some way I hope he sees this and knows I'm wishing him a farewell and good health and prosperity in his new voyages ahead.  NYC won't be the same without you for sure.... And seeing Icons leave like this , you can't help but ask yourself, how long can I stick around holding onto somethin I loved that isn't here anymore?  and where would I go? Miami?, Brasil?  I'm holding on as best I can....

Definition of Irony, on one hand NY TImes does a great service writing about Clayton, then on the other hand I go to NYTIMES.COM and see this as the first picture on their site of 2 cornballs visually making me throw up in my mouth alittle.. these fucks are everywhere....

herbs...... yeah i said it.....               judgement at face value.....  I work with what you give me........
